Mansfield, Ohio
Viewed as an important asset to downtown Mansfield, the 1400 seat Renaissance Theater underwent a major restoration/alteration in 1985. As Project Architect, Dan Seckel was responsible for production of all construction documents, specifications and supervision of the work. Specialty contracts included stage rigging and gridiron modifications, theatre lighting and sound, installation of a restored organ and rehabilitation of the original seating. Construction also included excavating of a new orchestra pit and incorporation of salvaged architectural features from nearby demolished properties. The Seckel Group has recently completed a $4,000,000 building expansion to enhance the patron experience with a new lobby and prefunction area, concessions, restrooms, business offices and elevator access to all floors. A new heating and cooling system was installed to service the 1500 seat auditorium while respecting the historic interior. Master planned for the facility is a 300-person black box venue and club restaurant. Click here for the interior.
