Richland County Children Services

As a partnership principal, Dan Seckel was the lead project architect for the construction of the Children’s Services building in 1991. Dan’s role included design development, construction documents, specifications and construction supervision. Initial program criteria included a functional plan coupled with economy of construction. The completed project enclosed 19,000 square feet at the cost of $1,225,000. A particularly challenging site, extensive earthmoving allowed an exposed partial basement area providing a separate entrance to the major meeting room. In 2005, the Seckel Group was selected by the RCCS board to design a major addition to accommodate increased demand for services. Currently under construction, the expansion provides a secured parking area, daylighted work cubicles and a 120 person training/conference center with full technology.
